Meet low rain — An Artist Collective
In celebration of my birthday last week I announced my new brand, the name of the tattoo studio that is the home to Daniell Tattoos: LOW RAIN — An Artist Collective. Then over the weekend, I invited 70ish of my friends and fam to join me in celebration. And this week, the studio opened. PINCH ME!
LOW RAIN is in honor of my family. Lorraine was my grandmother’s name and is mom’s middle name. It’s a play on the concept of low chance of rain, brighter days ahead, good things are coming, etc. while also connecting back to family, which is my greatest inspiration. SO many of my clients use tattoos to honor family, friends that feel like family, or moments that commemorate personal wins. It always feels like a bright spot, a moment of LOW RAIN.
LOW RAIN is a tattoo studio meets art collective — think gallery and event and creative space. The art rotates, giving local artists a chance to be seen. Retail, vibes, community. LOW RAIN is my family's victory story. LOW RAIN leans into the fact that we are who we are because others are who they are/were — we are all connected, both in our struggles and in our victories. We are who we are because of how others loved us.
Ever since I was a kid, I grew up wanting to be just like my parents. Hard working, small business owners that live with passion and purpose. Saturday was the moment that childhood dream came true. It was a night filled with so much LOVE.
YOU — THE CLIENTS — THE PEOPLE — MY FRIENDS — We all know I wouldn’t be here without your support. Everyday I think about how lucky I am. No amount of ‘thank yous’ feel like they are enough. It is such a joy to be trusted with your meaningful pieces, and I am forever grateful.
Thank you and big love to:
My family! My dad with the heavy lifting, a plant caretaker and alcohol provider (for the opening that is 😂). My mom with the emotional support, teaching me how to setup a business, and manage my own space. And my sister…my legit Pinterest board - who flew all the way from San Diego to add in the creative touches, good vibes and help party plan. Every inch of this studio has their mark. I’d be lost without them.
To Tyler, for being the first one I tell all my ideas to and who supports every decision I make. I love you, I love you, I love you!
To Jane & Reid, the best work crew ever!
