FAQs

You have every right to ask a lot of questions before you get a tattoo. I hate hearing stories about people not getting what they wanted or feeling like they didn’t know what to do because they were intimidated or an artist made them feel silly for asking.

Your questions are welcome here. No shame. No shade. Ask me anything!

Here are a few that I do get asked quite frequently, but by no means does this mean there aren’t other great questions that you should send me way!

  • It might! I’ve had people say it feels like nothing and others who have found it quite painful. Because this is a finer needle than some traditional tattoos, it may be slightly less than those, but no guarantees. You’re tough, you can breathe through it, and we can take breaks as needed. Pain levels generally experienced across areas of the body are outlined upon request.

  • This totally depends on the chosen art, the area of the body, and other factors like how much we’re chatting as we go. If you come in with only a concept in mind but not a lot of inspo pics, it may also take us longer to sketch out and decide on a final idea. That’s fine, but make sure you are pretty clear on the direction you want to go! The more inspo the better :)

Generally speaking, most tiny and mid-size pieces take less than an hour. Larger pieces may take up to 4 hours (which we may want to split into sessions). See the FAQ about size details for my specifics.

  • Pricing is ultimately determined by size and level of detail and intricacy. Generally speaking, a small tattoo is quarter-size or less (a letter, a small icon, 1-2 words). A medium ranges from quarter-size to a clementine-sized (single flower, 2-3 words). Large tattoos are clementine to apple-sized or larger (More than 3 words, a whole bouquet of flowers). Larger than that is an option, but please email me with your vision to make sure we book enough time.

  • A small bundle is ~3 tattoos and large bundle is 8 or more tattoos (prices start at $500). A bundle can only be used by one person, meaning you can’t split it with someone else.

  • In the event I have to reschedule your appointment, which would only be due to the rare case of an emergency situation on my end, I will do my best to schedule you ASAP. Please understand that at times this may mean 2-3 months from the original date, but I do consider your reschedule my top priority. Booking with me means that you understand that sometimes things happen beyond my control — that’s life! I SO APPRECIATE your patience while we get you back on the books.

  • Send us an email and we’ll help! This is a bit tricky otherwise as it’s often hard to reserve the right amount of time for two people, so best to be in touch!

  • In most cases, this is for eva and then some :) For some placements and some people, there may be some fading, but that depends on your unique body, how closely you follow aftercare instructions, sun exposure, and your lifestyle.

  • I sure do but not the insides. If there was an area on the body that is both a bit more painful and can often fade quickly, this is it. Every single body’s response is different though, and some folks experience minimal pain and ink that lasts forever. If you don’t want it to last, don’t get it!

I also don’t do pieces with a lot of shading and prefer not to tattoo ribs, faces, and ankles. No realism.

Please also keep in mind that due to the placement and skin texture in some areas, there may be types of designs will be a bit harder to do in these area. If you have questions or doubts, when you book, send your inspo and we’ll get this confirmed ahead of time.

  • The difference is in the name. A fine line tattoo is a thinner needle than many artists use. It produces a delicate, thin line vs. a more substantial imprint with other needles. Some say that it hurts slightly less. I use specialty needles and inks to produce this look.

  • If you’re someone who wants to share your idea and talk through it ahead of time, email me. I would never ask you to start the process sight unseen if that’s not comfortable for you, but let’s just have that convo via email instead!

  • You will be charged a non-refundable deposit at the time of booking (the amount varies with the size of the tattoo) that is applied towards the cost of your services. If you decide not to get a tattoo, we can use towards brow services or you can transfer to someone else to use, but absolutely no refunds will be given.

  • Please share with me any extenuating circumstances that may make bringing someone with you essential, but otherwise we ask that you bring at max 1 person. Do not bring children to your appointment, even if they’re adorable :) If you do want to have a group getting tattooed, please reach out to make sure I can accommodate the group per timing, needs, etc. In some instances, we may want to do a private event instead! See the event form page to request this.

  • If time allows, absolutely! This will depend on sizing, and the price may also change based on how many times we draw it up, how much ink ends up being used, etc., if it ends up sorta going beyond that initial “small” one planned.

  • If you need any of my work touched up, I am happy to do so and always have time in my schedule for making sure you love your tattoo I did! I do NOT do touch ups or cover-ups to work done by other artists. Text for a touch-up request!
